Reviving Prison Break, as referenced today by TVLine, and The X-Files had been among the first priorities for Fox toppers Dana Walden and Gary Newman when they took over the network last summer while continuing to oversee sibling 20th Century Fox TV. Unlike the stars of The X-Files, who are off doing different things, making scheduling extremely difficult, Miller and Purcell will have their work schedules synched up for the foreseeable future as they co-star together on the CW’s upcoming drama DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

I hear the idea is for many original cast members to reprise their roles with cameos in the limited series. Not surprisingly, like the much lauded Season 1 of the original series, I hear the new installment likely would chronicle a prison break, focusing again on brothers Michael (Miller) and Lincoln (Purcell) - possibly trading places - who might be joined by a third co-lead character. Both are expected to return for the follow-up. Stars Wentworth Miller, who got his break on Prison Break, and Dominic Purcell both have acknowledged publicly that they would love to come back for a limited-run installment.
